The whole commotion was videotaped by a concerned bystander which was uploaded online and immediately went viral on social media. It can be seen in the video that the parent of the child is screaming for help while her son is helplessly stuck in the escalator.
The emergency response team of the mall responded immediately to help the child get out of the escalator. They proceeded to bring the child to the nearest hospital and fortunately, the boy suffered only minor injuries and is now recovering.
Netizens slammed the parent of the child for her negligence that resulted in the incident happening. Some have cautioned other parents to always keep an eye on their children to avoid such accidents from happening.
